Boo!!! Spooky....
Ghosts, Jack-o'-lanterns, pumpkins, witches, zombies, trick or treat... What do you know about Halloween? Here are some facts:
It's celebrated on 31 October, the night before the Catholic festival of All Saints and the pagan Celtic festival of Samhain.
It was originally called All Hallows'eve (hallow=saints).
Halloween colours are orange (related to harvest in autumn) and black (related to death).
Today it has become a very popular tradition for kids and teenagers.
People dress up as monsters or ghosts and use tomato ketchup to look like a vampire.
Dressed up children visit the houses in their neighbourhood asking for "trick or treat". Treats are sweets or money.
You can make a pumpkin lantern carving the vegetable, then you must put a candle on the inside, it makes a scary effect.
Children play apple bobbing, a play where some apples are placed in a large bowl with water and you must bite an apple without using your hands or- to make it more difficult- with your eyes covered with a scarf.
