FORMA NEGATIVA
Dobbiamo parlare di azioni che non sono state fatte/non sono avvenute. Si usa questa struttura:
SOGGETTO + DIDN'T* + VERBO ALLA FORMA BASE
*DIDN'T è la forma contratta (abbreviazione) di DID NOT. Questo ausiliare è uguale per tutte le persone.
ES: Yesterday I didn't do my homework because I went to football practise (ieri non ho fatto i compiti perché sono andato all'allenamento di calcio.
FORMA INTERROGATIVA
Dobbiamo porre domande per sapere cosa è stato fatto o cosa è avvenuto in un momento passato. Si usa questa struttura per tutte le persone:
DID + SOGGETTO +VERBO ALLA FORMA BASE
ES:
Did you study English yesterday? Yes, I did/No, I didn't! (Hai studiato inglese ieri? Sì/No!)
What did your brother do last Saturday? (Cosa ha fatto tuo fratello sabato scorso?)
ATTENZIONE:
il verbo essere (to BE) non segue queste regole.
f.AFFERMATIVA al Past Simple: WAS/WERE
f.NEGATIVA:WASN'T/WEREN'T (si aggiunge NOT)
f.INTERROGATIVA: WAS I-he-she-it...? WERE you-we-they...? (si invertono soggetto e verbo).
ES: Were you at home yesterday at 3.00? No, I wasn't (Eri a casa ieri alle 3.00? No).
