BLOCK OF FLATS (condominio), DETACHED HOUSE (casa indipendente), SEMI-DETACHED HOUSE (villetta bifamiliare), COTTAGE (tipica casa di campagna inglese, PALACE (palazzo signorile), MANSION (villa)

Se l’abitazione ha più piani si utilizzano i termini:
DOWNSTAIRS (al piano inferiore, giù)
UPSTAIRS (al piano superiore, su)
ON THE GROUND FLOOR (piano terra) /ON THE FIRST FLOOR (primo piano)
Es: Downstairs/on the ground floor there is a hall and a living room next to a big kitchen. Upstairs/on the first floor there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Es: My favourite room is my bedroom. It’s quite big. The walls are pink with many posters of my favourite bands. There is a bed and opposite the bed a small wardrobe. Next to the wardrobe I have a desk and a bookshelf. There is a window.
DIFFERENZA TRA HOME E HOUSE:
Si dice I’m AT HOME (sono a casa) e I go/come HOME (vado/arrivo a casa). Home indica il posto dove si risiede, il nucleo familiare
HOUSE si riferisce alla casa come edificio.
PLACE: Quando si invita qualcuno a casa o si va a casa di altri, si utilizza : Let’s go to my place (andiamo a casa mia); I’m going to Tim’s place (sto andando a casa di Tim)
